Q. How can I load
software onto, or transfer data to and from the FS/2? |
A. You can use
the free Husky file
transfer utility called HCOM. Make sure you have the proper communications
cable.

Q. My FS/2 has stopped
responding (locked up) and I can't get it to restart. |
A. To reset the unit hold down
the two shift keys and the power key for 5 seconds before releasing all three keys.

Q. My FS/2 has been
stored for some time and does not appear to work now. |
A. If the FS/2 has a
rechargeable battery, connect it to an FS/2 AC adapter and leave the battery to charge for
at least 1/2 hour, otherwise fit a set of new size AA alkaline batteries. Reset the unit
as described above.
The unit will then run but will
need to be left on charge or with good batteries fitted for at least 24 hours for the
internal backup battery to recharge.

Q. Are there any barcode
readers which I can use with my FS/2? |
A. Yes,
Handheld Systems recommends and
supplies the Symbol laser scanner for use with the FS/2.

Q. Can I use a serial
device which is powered from the RS232 port on the FS/2? |
A. The FS/2 can supply between
4.7V at 100mA and 4.5V at 400mA from the VCCout line of the serial ports. See the
Developers Guide for details.

Q. The DOS FORMAT utility
is not provided on the FS/2, how can I format my FS/2 disk? |
A. Use the UTIL.COM utility and
select the Format Fixed Disk option. Use the default values provided for the best results.

do you turn the FS/2 backlight on or off ? |
A. Hold down
the PAW key, then press the L key.
