Q. Can I use my existing FS/2 or Hunter 16 software
on the FS/GS? |
A.
You may be able to. There are some differences in hardware detailed in Technical Note 531.
If you do experience any problems contact your software provider.

Q. How can I load software onto, or transfer data to
and from the FS/GS? |
A.
You can use Husky HCOM (file transfer utility) with the COM2 serial port using the command
line: HCOM /C2

Q. My FS/GS has been stored for some time and does
not appear to work now. |
A.
If the FS/GS has a rechargeable battery, connect it to an FS/GS AC adaptor and leave the
battery to charge for at least 1/2 hour, otherwise fit a set of new size AA alkaline
batteries.
To reset the unit hold down the
two shift keys and the power key for 5 seconds before releasing all three keys.
The unit will then run but
will need to be left on charge or with good batteries fitted for at least 24 hours for the
internal backup battery to recharge.

Q. I
have a serial device which is powered from the RS232 port. Can I use it with the FS/GS? |
A.
No, the FS/GS is charged via pin 9 of the serial connector which is used for VCCout and
Ring indicator on the FS/2.

Q. Can I use my FS/2 AC adaptor with
my FS/GS? |
A.
No, the FS/GS requires an AC adaptor which connects to the 9-pin serial port.
